I've started playing WT about 3 months ago, I got to tier 6 in Russia, 5 in France and 3/4 in 2 or 3 other nations. I've only been able to do that because I almost exclusively play bombers or strike planes due to being able to earn income without depending solely on PVP. Why would I bother trying if whenever I fail it ruins my income from the 2 previous matches? Also, bombers are what brought me to WT since most games don't like adding bombers, only fighters or maybe some strike aircraft. Even GTA that has bombers, has them with no bombsight so the only way to bomb is dive bombing. It's fun, also translated that skill to WT, as well as turn fight dogfighting, but bombers are the flying tanks that deliver the ultimate destruction in a combat zone, and more often than not are covered in powerful guns. I remember flying my Avenger (V22 Osprey in GTA) with my friends and just gunshipping everything until someone killed the engines or destroyed my tail, but then I come to WT, sortie in my B17 Flying Fortress, and find out it's actually a Flying Coffin made out of wet paper. How in the hell do some fighters withstand more damage than the legendary B17 that IRL sometimes returned falling apart, destroyed cockpit and missing parts of the tail and wings after eating hundreds of 30mm cannon shells? In the game it simply disassembles if you sneeze too close to it. Also, the A10 and SU 25 are flying tanks, but a single missile completely destroys them? The real A10 was NEVER shot down by an enemy ever since entering service. They routinely fly home after eating missiles, RPGs and many .50 rounds. Hell, the damn cockpit is fully armored with thick armor, yet in game you just get pilot sniped if shot from anywhere but from the front. And these planes are sturdy not because they have armor, it's that they're built in such a way that you'd have to shoot through a lot of thick material and damage many redundanct critical components to maybe break off a wing or a piece of the tail. Where are these modeled in WT? Not where I can see them, because a B17 wing would never break from a few 20mm shots or even 30mm. It would be easier for the gunners to die or for the hydraulics to fail than to break off a wing like that, or even by pulling 3Gs. I doubt old hydraulics from a huge bomber had the power to just pitch hard and destroy the whold thing.

I really like this plane, hope to get it when it goes on sale at Christmas. Also wish they add the russian version of this upgrade to the soviet tree.

This is the first plane that actually relies on original R-27's cuz everything else that has them... uses them for a short time until they unlock the Extended Range versions. The R's do ok with selective shots roughly 5 to 8km... but they do pull very hard for not having a very strong motor so opponents can actually outmaneuver it simply because they keep the missile from getting up to speed. The T's I love using for rear aspect shots. Basically impossible to flare if they aren't able to change aspect quick enough. It does have IRCCM as well in the same way the R-73 does (It's also just more sensitive to aircraft when looking at them rear aspect just like the 73). Generally for the rear shot I'd aim for later Sidewinder ranges: 2.5 - 3km max if both planes are past Mach. From my own personal experiences using them.

In other words, the Bison really only kept the skin and skeleton of the Bis.

Hot take, premium vehicles should not get access to the newest weapons to be added to the game. This thing should not get r-77s regardless of how much someone may have overpaid for it. Realism isn't an excuse for predatory game design.

it’ll be cool to hopefully see india get their own tree down the line as more modern vehicles get added; it could start around rank 6 similar to how israel starts at rank 4, and they can handle already-owned vehicles the same as well

Was kinda hoping that they would add a final MiG-21 version to the russian tree too as l'm a fan of the plane but oh well, maybe it'll happen later. Also over 400 aircraft lost to crashes? That's worse than german F-104s, damn

About the history part regarding the kill on a Pak F-16, looking at this un-bias, India claims they shot down a F16 and Pakistan claims they shot down a MiG-21, Su-30MKI, and a Jaguar. According to whatever images that are available online and I was there watching the news when it happened irl, all I saw were MiG-21 and Jaguar wreckages, the Indian Mig-21 pilot that managed to land on Pakistani soil, subsequently released back to India. On the other hand India showed just one picture of a piece of sheet metal that said AIM-120 but other then that no further evidence about a F16 shot down, no wreckage, no nothing. IDK if America actually looked into the inventory of Pak F16 which they said they would with concern that Pak wasn't allowed to use F16 for aggression. The point of it all is, both these nations can't be taken seriously cus they will stop at nothing to try and one up another. Based on the images and evidence of the fiery wreckages of jets seen, even an Indian aircraft analyst said it was a Mig-21 wreckage on live news. The pilot "Abhinandan" who was released back to India, I firmly believe that an Indian MiG-21 Bison and Jaguar were confirmed kills however, the Pak claiming an Su-30MKI was just propaganda cus I've seen no evidence of it. Same goes for the Indian claim they shot down a F-16, I'm not trying to insult fellow Indians, I just don't see any evidence of a F-16, you'd think the Indians would show more then just a piece of metal saying AIM-120, right...

I pre-ordered this plane before even knowing everything about it... probably not a good idea but I just love Mig-21's, and the idea of this plane tempted me too much, so I put some money aside for it and pre-ordered it.
